An Industry Driven Solution

The Solar Quality Initiative Installation Best Practice  effort started nearly three years ago with a series of meetings with industry leading solar providers and finance companies, convened by IBTS and aligned around a common goal of insuring the booming residential solar industry is built on a strong foundation of quality installation and assurance. Based on initial drafts created through this IBTS lead industry effort, NREL quickly saw the need for such a system and generously funded the completion of the process as part of their ongoing efforts.

With the release of the IBTS lead NREL SAPC Installation Best Practices, this process enters a new phase, moving from a focus on creating a consensus document, to developing a implementing a system implement these practices as a standard across the solar industry. This effort will be continued in partnership with NREL and our many industry partners through the Solar Quality Initiative.

The Solar Quality Initiative core team includes:
Rudy Saporite, IBTS
Jeff Domanski, IBTS
Matt Golden, Senior Energy Consultant with IBTS
Chris Doyle, Dividend Solar and IBTS
We would like to specifically thank those people and companies that contributed to this process from the very beginning at Intersolar in 2012.
