The mark of quality for the residential solar industry

The Solar Quality Credential ensures that solar providers have the systems in place, and meet the necessary requirements to deliver solar systems that meet or exceed the requirements set forth in the Solar Installation Best Practices.

When you see a company that carries the Solar Quality Credential you know that your solar system will be installed according to industry best practices and standards.

For Investors:
You know know that the solar provider puts quality first and is developing a fleet of assets that will stand the test of time.

Credentialing Process:

  • The Solar Quality Credential provides assurance that a credentialed provider has the system in place for all projects after the credential is awarded comply with PV Installation Best Practice requirements.
    • The Credential will be a three year accreditation of process.
      • Compliance:
        • A Company with a process that does comply with the requirements of this document will be given a  “passing” grade on the application, and will become accredited for a three year period, at which time they will be subject to recertification.
        • A Company with a process that does not comply with the requirements listed in this document, can receive a “PASS” grade IF they accept and include the necessary requirements in their process. These companies will “PASS” the application phase and become accredited, and is required to have a follow up inspection after one (1) year to ensure systems have been put in place to comply as required.
          • Companies that comply after one (1) year re-check will be allowed to retain accreditation for two (2) more years, and will be required to recertify after three (3) years from the date of the original application.
      • Non-Compliance:
        • Companies that are found to not be in compliance with requirements after one (1) year provisional period will have their accreditation revoked and the original application will be marked as “FAIL”. Companies who receive a “FAIL” after a provisional acceptance must wait a minimum of one (2) year from date of final failure, AND  must be able to prove that ALL requirements have been included as requested.
        • A Company with a process that does not comply with the requirements listed in this document, who are not interested in including the missing “required” sections of this document will receive a “FAIL” response on their application. Companies not having received a “FAIL” response after a provision revocation will be allowed to reapply after 6 months of original application.
